Employees often complain that the performance appraisal process is unfair and does not accurately reflect the employee's performance. This is a critical issue when pay increases are linked to the performance appraisal. If you were the Human Resources Manager what actions would you take to ensure that performance appraisals accurately reflect an employee's level of performance?

(1) What are some of the problems you could train your supervisors to avoid in appraising performance?

(2) In your discussion, please share performance appraisal problems you have seen on the job and how they were resolved.

There are two parts to each discussion topic. For part one, post your response to each of the discussion topic questions listed below. For part two, provide your comments on another students response to the discussion topic. Do you agree with their comments? Why or Why not? Support your agreement or disagreement with facts and information from the textbook or work experience. You may include additional questions, new insights gained from reading the summary, connections to course material, or other issues related to the exercise. Obviously, just saying that you agree or disagree with a response does not carry as much weight as basing an opinion on statistics or facts.

Your response to Discussion Part I should be between 150-200 words. Your response to Discussion Part II should be between 150-200 words.
