Developing a Professional Work Ethic

Employees are expected to demonstrate a good work ethic. This complex term includes personal characteristics such as dependability, initiative, effort, responsibility, integrity and punctuality. Your work ethics is a reflection of how you feel about and do your job. Without a good personal work ethics, your performance will typically fall short of what your employer and colleagues expect of you (Butterfield, 2nd Edition)

1) Many people develop a strong work ethic before they start working full-time. If you have not developed a work ethic by then, do you think it is possible to develop one? If so, how?

2) Some people who observe the workforce in the United States say that young workers do not have a strong work ethic. Do you agree or disagree? Explain why.
