According the Medical Health Association (MHA) data (see URL below) the number of nongovernment not-for-Profit community hospitals comprising of 2946 and entrepreneurial investor-owned for-profits comprising of some 1233 entities. The growth of for-profit hospitals is growing in number and size and therefore, an MBA healthcare major must treat with for-profits vis-a-vis non-profit healthcare businesses. Some for -profits need to align the interest of employees with the interest of shareholders by using employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) and employee stock purchase plans (ESPP). Would you agree?
