Scenario

The general manager, Janelle Smith, has asked for a recommendation about what should happen following the loss prevention issue identified in Assignment 1. Your recommendation will join letters from the Loss Prevention Manager and Inventory Manager, who have also been asked to make recommendations. All of these recommendations will be used to help determine what course of action the company should take and what punishment (if any) should be meted out to the employees involved.

As Viewpoint Director, your role is to be an advocate for all employees. Your primary responsibility is to relate employee concerns to leadership and provide guidance on situations involving employee discipline. Consider your role as Viewpoint Director as you review the materials on the next few pages. Remember that in this role, you are responsible for considering employee concerns and advocating for employees.

Sarah answers a strange call while all the items are exactly in the same place where she placed.

Michael disappears

Michael comes out of the technician floor bouncing a red rubber ball and move towards the main door. He misses the ball and he and it ships towards the main door. Michael never appears in the next 40 minutes.

Sarah answers the phone at her desk. While taking, she points down the hallway and nods her head.

Rachel comes back

After 30 minutes Rachel comes back though technician door. She stops at Sarah's desk and talks to her. Rachel cannot be blamed because as per the floor map she cannot access the objects misplaced.

Michal comes back through main door

Michael comes back through the main door after 40 minutes and quickly moves through the technician door. It is not possible for Michael to steal the items because Sarah was sitting in the reception area the whole time.

Sarah exits the floor through the main doorways after taking her keys from her desk. She never mentioned that she took a break in the interview.

Rachel finds that Sarah's desk was empty

Rachel peeps out of the technician door and finds that Sarah's desk was empty. Then she looks down the hallway and main door and then pulls her head back inside the technician room before closing the door.

Sarah comes back to the floor through the main doorway after 16 minutes. There was no proper explanation form Sarah regarding what she was doing during this 16 minutes where she went and what

As she returns, Sarah picks up her phone and hangs up her phone after having a brief conversation. Whom did she call? What was she talking? Everything was a mystery.

Michael exits the main door with the keys

Michael returns from the technician room and asks Sarah something from her drawer. She opens her drawer, but she immediately closes it. Sarah picks the keys lying on the floor and she hands them to Michael and he leaves the floor through the main door.

Michael comes back from the main door. He turns to go to the technician door but again picks up the keys he placed on Sarah's desk and exits through the main door. Sarah would have easily seen him if he had taken the items.

Michael exits through the technician door after talking to Rachelle. Both Sarah and Rachelle have a short 2 minutes conversation after Michael leaves.
