Case: Noreen is reviewing overdue accounts. At 30 days (first notice) and again at 60 days (second notice) past due, a reminder letter is sent to customers. At 90 days (third and final notice) past due, a letter is sent to customers informing them of the fact that at 120 days past due legal action will be taken. At 120 days past due, an account is sent out for legal proceedings.

Petro-Go also asks the customers to contact the company to discuss payment arrangements and offers to help them devise an affordable and manageable payment plan before legal action takes place. Petro-Go has many strategies for helping customers manage their debts efficiently. The letter is an attempt to persuade the customer to make at least the minimum payments to avoid legal action. Legal action will hurt the customer's credit score and future ability to obtain credit.
