Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a great trait that leaders possess and can actually build and grow unlike IQ. I used EQ for my dissertation. I compared the level of EQ of the nurse manager and the impact on the nursing practice environment. As you would guess, the leaders with higher EQ, the higher the Practice Environment Score. I concluded that development of EQ in the leaders would be a great investment and impact culture positively. Have you ever taken any surveys to assess your EQ level?
