Question

Mr. Reyes is a 32-year-old male who had emergency segmental small bowel resection two days ago due to a small bowel obstruction (secondary to cancer). He has an IV of RL infusing at 125ml/hr and a NG tube on low intermittent suction. He is receiving morphine via a PCA. You will need to perform the PCA checks in collaboration with the RN. He has JP drain to his abdomen. The physician has ordered the Jackson-Pratt drain to be removed with the next dressing change.
