EMBA541 Operations Management Assignment - Reflection
Purpose - The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on your learning and the concepts you encountered throughout this course.
Instructions -
1. Explain how you would use the concepts learned in the course to solve a real-world operational problem (strategically, tactically or operationally).
The problem may be something you encounter at your work or a problem faced by a large firm. You must clearly describe the problem, the root causes of the problem (in your opinion) and the proposed solution. Identify clearly and concisely - in you're in depth analysis - the relation to the concepts covered in the class.
2. Explain how this course have changed you (if any) as a person and as a business-person. Which specific concepts you appreciated and why. (This is NOT an evaluation of the course).
If you have other ideas on how you can reflect on those learnings and how the concepts discussed in class impacted you, feel free to share these ideas as well.
Reflection about how the operations management course and especially the course that we took could be used in a real-world operational problem. And need to explain how this course have changed me as a person and a business person.
The subjects covered in the course were:
- Process flow (bottle neck)
- Time flow management
- Waiting lines (queuing management)
- Inventory management
- Quality control
For you to know a bit about a head of sales working for big developers, used once one of the cases during launching a new project we have a very long queue.
In our business everything from the above topics could be used, as a developer we launch a project, we start selling and we build, we have handover date related to a specific time, so the time flow has to be used properly, also the process flow when building to deliver on time , but we are using contractors to build the projects.
