Employee engagement strategies that increase confidence elevate self-awareness, and develop skills to promote self-efficacy are essential to overcome challenges and provide better results (Bachkirova, Arthur, & Reading, 2015). Mentor and mentee relationships should emphasize routine communication so that both individuals discuss progress and problems. Through these conversations and scheduled engagements, changes to Individual Development Plans will be timely and relevant. Another strategy that will add confidence and analyze the mentee's current performance and proficiency level is milestone events where the mentor has the mentee perform certain job functions or lead a project that demonstrates and shows cases the mentee's skills throughout the relationship.
