Jason borrowed $1, 000 from Jack on March 31st 2015 and signed a promissory note that he will pay Jack by June 30th 2015.

Since 31st March 2015, Jason has evaded Jack; in fact, he has avoided all interactions totally with Jack. On the 1st July 2015, Jack tried calling Jason but was unsuccessful. He tried again for a few weeks but Jason did not take his calls.

On the I st September 2015, Jack took legal action against Jason in the High Court to recover the $1, 000. Jason as a defense argued that at the time in question when he signed the promissory note, he was insane and cannot recall that he borrowed any money from Jack.
