My questions are: How does the idea of functional subordination align with the understanding of an equal, eternal Trinity? Are there biblical passages that challenge or support the notion of one member being temporarily subordinate for a specific purpose? There must be, right? Finally, Erickson proposes that the Trinity is incomprehensible. Really? If that's the case, then I shouldn't feel bad about being completely bewildered. Wrestling with the limitations of human understanding and embracing the "mystery" within this doctrine become essential aspects of our theological journey.
