Aim: the aim of the assignment is to design and implement (through simulation and some practical testing) aspects of power supply converter that meet the requirements/specifications of a customer.

LO 1: interpret a brief and produce an appropriate report to a professional standard;
LO 2: demonstrate an understanding of how the Simulator is used to build a system and obtain appropriate simulation data;
LO 3: check the quality of, and analyses simulation data by using the tools available within different packages (MATLAB, PROTEUS) appropriately;
LO 4: demonstrate an understanding of relevant theoretical concepts and the application of these concepts through appropriate calculations/analysis as appropriate;
LO 5: Draw together all of the above through succinct (but critical) discussion and appropriate conclusions.

Report Layout/Structure

This assignment is an individual submission and should be set out as follows. The submission should also contain the following:
1) A title sheet showing the coursework title and the name/ID number of the author;
2) Signed statement of originality.
3) A numbered contents list showing sections/subsections (as appropriate) of the report and page numbers;
4) An introduction with some background (maximum of); 1 page
5) Design, results and discussion containing (maximum of ): 5½ pages
a) fully labelled/numbered tables and figures
b) plots/graphs to appropriate scale, fully labelled and of a professional appearance;
c) design calculation where appropriate
d) critical discussion/analysis of the results
6) conclusions (maximum of ); ½ page
7) Referencing
8) Appendices
