Some of the areas that have benefited with the changing times are those in medicine, which with the introduction of electronic health records in medical facilities, was said to improve access to information in terms of effectiveness and efficiency ( ). This work will consider how EHR influences work productivity and job satisfaction on health professionals in an urban hospital setup. These two aspects, therefore, form the foundation of this research study in achieving an understanding of the best practices and health management policies. The literature review thus forms a good grounding for this study by pointing out the need for further research and development on top of other theories and findings. This need is reiterated by the conflicting outcomes recorded in various current studies on EHR implementation. While some papers, such as the one by Jones et al. (2014), think EHR systems enhance workflow efficiency and job satisfaction by reducing paperwork and making patient data more accessible, several studies indicate that EHR systems raise workload and stress for health-care providers. This is a clear-cut dichotomy which this study attempts to resolve.
