Assignment: Designing a simple Electronic Circuit (Without Micro controller) to switch on /Off water pump(Motor) by checking the level of water in the overhead tank / Bottom Sump and also display the level of Water in the overhead tank

1. Simple circuit that switches on /Off water pump(Motor) by checking the level of water in the overhead tank / Bottom Sump and also display the level of Water in the overhead tank.

The circuit should able to measure the levels of water in a tank and pump motor can automatically switch on and fill the water in overhead tank and switch off once it is filled.

For example,

• Whenever overhead tank becomes empty water pump motor will run automatically by checking the water in the sump. (If it is empty Pump motor will not run)

• Water pump Motor will run until the tank becomes full (Or sump becomes empty)

• The above process will repeat till its setting changed for different levels  

2. Four level LED indicator will display on the panel indicating the level/ Liters in the water tank For example,

Tank full/1000 Ltrs, Tank empty /10 Ltrs, half full /500 Ltrs,

The circuit uses simple wire conductor Probes as water level sensors. These wire Probes are connected corresponding to each level detection. Reference voltage 5V also fed through another Probe to the tank. Once the water fills the corresponding Probe gets 5V and switches the transistor on and sending output low to the encoder indicating water is filled up to its level.
