1-EFFECTIVE USE OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA "Road blocking" is the media technique of buying ad time on all major networks in the same time spot. This can give the market an impression of strength as well as "being everywhere". And people who alter the channel to avoid the ad cannot escape the message.
a) Describe the value of this strategy for big ticket items like cars, trucks and vacations. Is there any difficulty that you can see with this (hint- there is)?
b) Finally would this be as effective in magazine ad campaigns (describe your answer)?
2-EFFECTIVE USE OF DIGITAL MEDIA AND THE WEB Several popular websites require that your computer accept 'cookies" in order to run properly. These little buggers habitually collect market-value data which the website can use to target ads or sell to other ad suppliers. It is fairly like taking your ID every time you shop at Wal-Mart.
In your opinion is this -
a) An unreasonable intrusion into consumer privacy,
b) An effective way to gather dependable market data and finally,
c) would people as well allow their computer webcam to be turned on when the ad runs to see how the consumer reacts....please describe your answers.
