Team Presentation:

In teams of 3 or 4, students are to summarize a topic discussed in class from the textbook and report on the current academic research / opinions of one particular theory or approach within the topic by relying on at least two journal articles as your main sources (you will surely have more than that!). Each team will send me their presentation file on email before their designated date of presentation. Seethe Course Schedule for the dates.

In a 20-minute presentation, students are to:
• Summarize the topic using textbook and/or other sources (all sources, including the textbook,must be citedin APA format).
• Describe a specific focus of interest within their topic in greater detail in their own terms
• Describe concepts / research / findings from thetwo journal articles. Students can access journal articles from the FDU on-line library. Two essential criteria:
o One of your articles MUST be taken from a peer-reviewed journal (less than 5 years)
o The other one of your articles MUST be taken from Harvard Business Review(no date restriction)
• Students are to indicate how the journal articles support or negate the textbook theory or model, and present their own take on the issue.

Team Paper:
In the same teams of 3 or 4, you will elaborate on your presentation topic further, and submit it in the form of a research paper. The feedback you receive from your classmates will come in handy here. More specifically, you are expected to narrow down your focus in your topic area, and combine academic and managerial perspectives that relate to it. Some sample questions that you might explore in relation to your topic:
• What happens to the motivation levels of employees when they get close to retirement?
• How can organizations ensure effective teamwork among multiple generations?
• What is the interplay between organizational politics and social media?
• Is there such thing as self-leadership, or is it simply a corporate fad to manipulate employees' confidence levels?
• How does organizational culture impact financial performance?

I'm sure you will come up with many more interesting questions! Please do not hesitate to discuss your ideas with me before delving into writing. Your paper is going to be about 15-18 pages long, is expected to include at a minimum:
• An introduction to your research focus,
• A brief literature review,
• A combination of academic and practical/managerial perspectives on your chosen topic,
• Your team's opinion on the issue and recommendations,
• Conclusion
• The paper must be written in APA format.
