THESIS STATEMENT = main idea of essay

TRANSITION = link from introduction to body

BODY in the middle: support thesis and develop ideas (3-10 paragraphs)

Every paragraph should contain:

SUPPORT SENTENCES = examples, evidence

TRANSITION = link one paragraph to the next

Take note once again this week: reading assignments are not linear; go back to assigned chapters in text as new information overlaps in assignments. Take time to know your textbook and this 'task' will be lightened. Sticky notes, highlighter, etc. are ways to keep track of needed information. Maybe a notebook kept along side textbook and course assignments to keep track of future work in the field.
