Some medications can damage a cells mitochondria. What would you predict to be the most likely long term effect on an organism with damaged mitochondria?

1.) Errors would be made during the DNA replication , and the organism would be more likely to develop cancer

2.) Nutrients taken into the cell from the surrounding environment would not be available. causing the cell to eventually waste away

3.) Proteins would not be able to be modified after being synthesized, so the organism would be unable to grow.

4.) The cell would not be able to provide enough energy to support all its necessary functions, causing it to die
