If I were a Brand Manager for Nike or New Balance attempting to reach both, college-aged women and men over 55, I would choose Youtube. Youtube in 2013 has over 1 billion active users which is equal to 1 out of every 7 people on this planet. For clarification, active users are those who have logged into their account within the past 30 days. That reach alone is over 500 million more than LinkedIn as well as Twitter. I believe Youtube is a social network that simply fits the way our world is today, companies are constantly seeking innovation, customers are constantly seeking to increase satisfaction. It seems as if individuals are constantly moving and times are constantly changing. Youtube is an application that will allow those individuals to listen or watch various videos of tutorials, advice, education and even entertainment all while on the go. Youtube is seemingly the most practical and accessible social network for today's day and age.
