My essay assignment is: "The Earth has become too polluted to continue to sustain human life. You are one of a small group of people being sent to a distant planet to colonize it. You must select six cultural artifacts to take with you with which to build and sustain a new civilization. These should be works of literature, music, art, mythology, philosophy and religion, such as you have encountered in the course this semester. Present your choices and your reasons for choosing them. Make sure that you write at least one well-developed paragraph for each cultural item."

I'm not even sure how to begin this. It sounds like a fun assignment, but I'm not sure I'm 100% understanding. I'm not sure to choose something that I like or something that should be works of art for the future, etc.
