You are to develop a process improvement model to the case scenario (attached) through Flexsim Simulation Modelling and Analysis.
Share any assumptions made in your solutions. Identify and state performance measures you can use to evaluate the process. Use Flexism to model and simulate the current process. Comment on the current process performance and identify areas for further improvement.
Propose and simulate your recommended alternatives. Use statistical test to conclude whether your proposed alternative is effective.
Share your project findings in a written report.
You are required to help Emily to prepare a report to include the following:
a. Describe how you will approach this simulation study.
b. Develop the FLEXSIM models to represent and simulate the process. FLEXSIM models submission is mandatory.
c. Analyze the process flow and identify the possible bottlenecks with the new production batch sizes.
d. Estimate the cycle time through simulation and recommend what to do in order to improve the cycle time.
e. Explain and illustrate statistically the recommended or proposed methods are effective in improving the cycle time.
