Get familiar with some concepts like shares, market value (market cap), E/S, ..etc

Assume you have a portfolio of 5 symbols (companies) starting from $1000 each, follow these companies and document changes in stock prices in an Excel Spreadsheet and upload it here, what do you notice? Any thoughts? What does the portfolio worth now?
