Biel (2015) emphasized how evolving changes in our environment and daily schedules have decreased the need for dynamic and varied mobility in our daily routines, frequently increasing our time seated and engaged in screen time. Occupational therapy practitioners are skilled in addressing issues related to screen time (Brackman et al., 2023). According to Hill et al. (2023) physical activity is influenced by multiple factors and occupational therapy practitioners have specialized skill and knowledge in analyzing the contextual factors of individuals, groups, and populations to influence change and promote healthy movement patterns and habits, with their clients and in the community. By raising awareness of the impact that daily movement habits have on overall health and well-being, occupational therapy practitioners can empower their clients, their communities, and the human population to incorporate physical activity and beneficial functional movement into their daily routines (Hill et al., 2023).
