Zak, a 5 year old male, suffers from a genetic condition known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This disorder caused progressive muscle wasting and muscle weakness due to an abnormal protein that is transcribed and translated from DNA containing the genetic abnormality. The abnormal protein is dystrophin.
