An aluminum tube of length 8 m is used as a simply supported column having both sides hinged carrying a 1.2-kN axial load. If the outer diameter of the tube is 50 mm, (A) compute the inner diameter that would provide a factor of safety of 2 against buckling. Use E = 70 GPa for aluminum.
