An industrial wastewater contains 2000 mg/L of total Ammonia as N, 490 mg/L of total Ni and has no inorganic carbon. The PH = 2.8. Using the diagram calculate to what pH the waste must be adjusted to so that the total Ni concentration is 1 mg/L. At this pH is the solution well buffered (answer quantitatively) and explain why or why not. Estimate how much 10 N NaOH per liter of waste water is need to raise the pH to the appropriate level?
