Part - I: Artistic Approaches and Creativity

Exercise A:

1. Draw 5 different aerial drones in perspective. You are encouraged to use your own artistic and engineering intuition. Your sketches are rough and rapid drawings. You are required to clearly communicate your design decisions/ideas.

2. Identify your preferred design (out of 5 sketches) with a star mark.

3. Provide height, width, and depth of your preferred design.

Exercise B:

1. Using your preferred design from Exercise A, provide Strength, Weaknesses , Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis of your selection.

2. Next, Provide a 250 word rationale about how and why you chose your design. Your write-up must clearly describe main features of your product.

Exercise C:

1. Provide a final/refined perspective sketch of your preferred aerial drone design.

2. Draw (hand-sketch) orthographic projections.

3. Show height, width, and depth of the object (as you did on Exercise A. But this time show dimensions directly on the object).

Exercise D:

1. Draw 5 different floor lamps in perspective. You are encouraged to use your own artistic and engineering intuition. These 5 sketches are rough and rapid drawings. You are required to clearly communicate your design decisions/ideas.

2. Identify your preferred design (out of 5 sketches) with a star mark.

3. Provide height, width, and depth of your preferred design.

Exercise E:

1. Using your preferred design from Exercise D, provide Strength, Weaknesses , Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis of your selection.

2. Next, Provide a 250 word rationale about how and why you chose your design. Your write-up must clearly describe main features of your product.

Exercise F:

1. Provide a final/refined perspective sketch of your preferred table lamp design.

2. Draw (hand-sketch) orthographic projections.

3. Show height, width, and depth of the object (as you did on Exercise A. But this time show dimensions directly on the object).

Part - II: Engineering Design

Exercise A:

1. You are given an engineering drawing of a bike frame with complete dimensions.

2. From given dimensions, create a 3D solid model and screen capture isometric view. You are free to use any modeling technique/approach that you feel appropriate. Make sure your sketches are fully-defined!

Exercise B:

1. From your 3D model on Exercise A, provide orthographic projections (standard 3 view with dimensions) of the bike frame on A4 Landscape engineering drawing layout.

2. Use Note feature to include your name and a title (up to you).

3. Your drawing must include:

  • A Model View (3D solid representation of your part)
  • Two Detailed Views (Pick areas that you want to provide additional information)

Exercise C:

1. You are given an engineering drawing of a miniature camera with complete dimensions.

2. From given dimensions, create a 3D solid model and screen capture isometric view. You are free to use any modeling technique/approach that you feel appropriate. Make sure your sketches are fully-defined!

Exercise D:

1. From your 3D model on Exercise A, provide orthographic projections (standard 3 view with dimensions) of the miniature camera model on A4 Landscape engineering drawing layout.

2. Use Note feature to include your name and a title (up to you).

3. Your drawing must include:

  • A Model View (3D solid representation of your part)
  • A Detailed View (Pick an area that you want to provide additional information)
