Two masses, connected by a massless, unstretcheable string are connected as seen in the diagram below starting from rest and let go (see diagram below). Mass A (mA), is on a horizontal surface with coefficient of kinetic friction muk. Mass B (mB), is free hanging from the string. Their accelerations have the same magnitude "a". Derive an expression for the acceleration "a" in terms of mA, mB, muk, and g. Ignore the mass of the pulley or the string.
Required steps:
-Draw FBDs for each mass A and B separately.
-Show Newton's second law for both objects (x, and y as necessary).
-Show the expression for the respective frictional force.
-Use the system of equations to algebraically solve for an expression for the common acceleration of the masses.Hint: you may set up different coordinate systems for each mass.
