A Stirling Engine is an external combustion engine in which the working fluid is usually either air/nitrogen or helium. However the power developed by the engine is directly proportional to the pressure of the working fluid and is adversely affected by the leakage of working fluid through the system. A Stirling Engine is being developed with air as working fluid and having pressures between 0.8 bar to 3 bar. The temperature of air inside the Engine will be 300°C.
B1.1. Draw a simple schematic of a Stirling Engine and explain its construction with respect to the pressure measurement.
B1.2. Suggest a suitable Pressure Measuring Technique with simple diagram to measure the pressure inside the cylinder without allowing any air leakage
Assume the n in the RosinRammler equation is 1.0, the Bond work index is 400 kWh/ton, and the raw refuse is 80% passing 20 cm. Estimate the size of the electric motor needed to power this shredder.

Azeotrope of chloroform–methanol. Vapor–liquid equilibrium data at 101.3 kPa are given for the chloroform–methanol system on p. 13-11 of Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook, 6th ed. From these data, prepare plots like Figures 4.6b and 4.6c. From the..
The beam supports two concentrated loads of 120 lb each spaced 4 ft apart and placed 3 ft from each end. Calculate the maximum deflection and the deflection at one of the loads.
Check your results by first expressing the given transform in partial-fractions form and then inverting using the standard results:
