You have applied for an internship at "Business Law Consulting UK" a company specialising in helping small business with legal issues. Owing to the salary and the reputation of "Business Law Consulting UK", there were 100s of applicants for the internship.
Task 1
Instructions
As part of the application, you need to send a portfolio of documents. The aim is not only to display understanding, but also to show clarity of thought. The documents you are to create are as follow:
1. Draw a mind map to distinguish between the types of law in the UK
2. Create a factsheet, summarising contract laws in EU and UK
3. Draw a table defining the concept of intellectual property rights such as copyright, patent, trademarks and brand names.

Your application was successful and you have been called in for an interview. Because the firm specialises in helping organisations address issues relating to employment and consumer protection you want to impress the recruiter with your knowledge on this topic. The secretary of the partner already told you to prepare for a 10-15 minutes interview segment, during which:
a. You should evaluate the benefits of the introduction of the Consumer Right Act 2015, Trade description Act of 1968, The Supply of Goods and Services Act of 1982, Consumer Protection Act of 1987 and General Product Safety Regulations of 1994.
b. You should describe laws relating to employment, in particular with regard to Employment Relations Act 2004 and what these legislations means with regards to termination of employment
c. Justify the importance of acting in accordance with consumer safety laws.
d. Determine the nature, constitution and structure of a company.
e. Assess how employment laws contribute to termination of contracts.
Task 3
Instructions
You have now been shortlisted and it is down to 4 candidates. The recruiting partner wants to see your worth and has asked all 3 candidates to write an infomercial. Your infomercial should focus on start-up launch. To do so, your infomercial should-
a. Describe the type of companies and their legal implications
b. Describe the formation process (including Registration, Commencement of business and Re- Registration)
c. Explain what an agent is, by providing an example and evaluate how Agency law applies to it. This being an infomercial, is your chance of promoting "Business Law Consulting UK"
Task 4
You and another candidate were the lucky successful interns. As happy as you are, you know that only one of you will be hired at the end of the 3 months internship. You decided to push for it and asked to be put on a merger project. The partner agreed to take a back seat and have you lead on the project but insisted that the other intern be brought up to speed.
