This problem concerns the dragging of a solid plate of very long length and width but of infinitesimal thickness at a constant speed V through a slit of width 2d filled with an incompressible Newtonian liquid of constant physical properties, as shown in the attached figure. Calculate the velocity field in the slit and the force required to drag or pull the plate through the slit. You can neglect gravity in analyzing this problem.
