4. Analyze a character's/ audience's wants, needs, and obstacles.
o What is it that they want?
o Is this different than what they need to become a happy, fulfilled person?
o What are the obstacles that stand in their way of what they want?
o How do they try to overcome those obstacles?
5. Analyze a significant object.
o Why did it seem so important?
o What was it about the object's description, or the way characters interacted with the object made it seem so important?
o How do you relate to this?
6. Discuss how the context for the work might have affected the writing itself. (History, geography, biography...)
o Provide a brief "overview" of key historical events of the time, as well as any key biographical events of the given author.
o How do these historical/personal events affect their interpretation of the story?
o Do you think the author intended the story to carry any specific message for the people of the time?
o What would be reactions to the message today?
