You are the executive assistant to the Head of Communications at CityLand, a major real estate developer in Singapore. Your Head of Communication, Ms. Britta Singh, has just informed you of the Board's decision to delay the launch of one of the company's high-end condominium projects in the East Coast area. The luxury project, which has yet to be named, was due to be launched next month. Due to tighter loan rules known as the total debt servicing ratio (TDSR), the Board of Directors has decided to re-think its strategy, and postpone the launch of the condo indefinitely.

Your firm had been in contact with Mr. Martyn Lawrence Bullard, one of the world's top interior decorators. Famous for his eclectic designs combining Hollywood glamour with exotic charms, Mr. Lawrence Bullard had been invited to design the show flats for the high-end condominium. There has even been talk that the design of the show flats might be featured in the popular US television series Million Dollar Decorators, as well as Elle Decor, one of the world's best-selling international home decorating magazines.

Owing to the recent cooling of the luxury property market, the Board has decided to change its marketing strategy. As mass-market homes promise much better returns, the project is to be re-branded and targeted at middle-income upgraders instead. In order to bring down costs, and to cater to local middle-class tastes, the Board is also considering hiring a young local decorator known for his minimalist urban chic to redesign the theme of the show flats.
