Choosing a suitable topic - Is my Topic Global Health?

In trying to decide if your topic is a global health one, ask yourself these questions after doing some preliminary research. (this could be as simple as googling 'Global Health' or go to the myriad of books on Global Health available in the library and look at some of the chapters where this topic is introduced.

Question 1. Is it a health topic that transcends national boundaries? This is the most obvious one and a strong example is a pandemic like COVID

Question 2. Does it include either a risk factor/driver/determinant of a health problem that transcends national boundaries? This is less obvious but if you think about NCDs - eg obesity related disease smoking related disease, alcohol and drug related illness, then you could think about how trade, multinational corporations and promotion affect etc

Question 3. Is there a strong inequality element to your topic? This could be within country for example - indigenous, migrants, gender, disability

Question 4. Does your health topic require a multiple country solution to solve it - eg. workforce shortages for surgery and migration from LMICs to HICs.
