Question:-Tommy is a super awesome artist. Riker, Inc. is building a new headquarters and commissioned Tommy to paint a large picture of its ore smelter for the lobby. Tommy submitted a preliminary sketch that was approved by Riker's board. The parties then agreed orally that Tommy would deliver a completed painting in time for the building's dedication 18 months later, and would be paid $50,000 on delivery. Tommy purchased a canvas of appropriate size and began to rough in the outlines of the painting. Before he had proceeded much further, the president of Riker called to tell him that the corporation had changed its mind and no longer desired the painting. Does Tommy have an enforceable contract with Riker?
