Case Study: If you're successful in the written exam today, you'll be invited to participate in the physical abilities tests. Physical abilities tests will consist of the obstacle course, the car push, dummy drag, 515 yard run, and the weapon activation, the physical abilities test is either pass or fail. We do not keep track of your times after you complete each event. If you're not successful today and the physical abilities tests, we invite you to return 30 days to take the exam. Again, you will have a total of 90 days to successfully complete the physical abilities test without having to retake the written exam. Unfortunately, at this time, We cannot allow you to practice physical abilities tests on the academy grounds. There are facilities available such as Golden West Academy in Huntington Beach, where you can practice the obstacle course. We will start the obstacle course from the edge of the pavement. Your time will officially begin. Once you have jumped the hurdle. Once you have successfully jumped over the hurdle, you will skip the rope section of the obstacle course and proceed to the standing barricades. At the standard very cage, you will follow the arrow on the first barricade. You'll proceed to the left and run in a serpentine pattern around all barricades, making sure that you do not touch the barricades at anytime. Once you have run through the standard bearer cage, you'll proceed to the six foot wood wall. You will then jump over the six-foot wall. Once you have successfully jumped over the six-foot wall, you will then skip the cargo net and proceed to the balance being once at the balanced beam, you proceed up the steps and walk foot to foot across the balanced beam with your last foot touching the yellow stripe. Once you have successfully completed the balanced beam, you will then proceed to the three hurdle. It is important that you jump over all three hurdle. Once you have completed the free hurdle, you will then approach the second law, the cinder block wall and jump over hit. Once you have successfully completed this cinder block wall, you will proceed to the monkey bars. It is important to remember that both hands must fetch the first run and the last rung of the monkey bars. Once you have dropped down off the monkey bars, you then proceed to the hole in the wall. You jump through the opening and proceed to your lap. Once you have jumped through the opening in the wall, you will proceed to the open doorway to your lap. Once you reach the open doorway, run to your right, down the lawn area, and touch the site on defense. Once you touch the sine, you'll then proceed down the painted runway on the pavement. Your time will land. Once you reach the end of the pavement, you have two minutes and three seconds to complete the obstacle course. Where the vehicle bush, you'll be required to push the Newport Beach Police Unit 10 feet in 10 seconds or less.
