Research Proposal Assignment-

Research Approach

Students will be given a research topic relevant to the course, to include a research question, and hypothesis. Students must then submit a research design that describes how they would go about answering this question and testing said hypothesis (i.e., what data is needed to test your hypothesis, what methods you would use and what you would obtain from such collection and method). This paper should reflect the same level of sophistication as the articles assigned in this course. Students will present this proposal to the class during the last week of classes as scheduled by the instructor.

• That is, In the current US climate, do Americans care more about their ideology and political identity than they do about the sanctity of Democracy? (free and fair elections, due process, rule of law, corruption, adherence to democratic norms, respect for majority wishes, etc)

2. Does the US Primary system return candidates that the majority of the country supports?
• That is, do we wend up with candidates that public would truly want to see in office or are opinion polls inflated due to the only choices preseented
