Assignment:

We've talked about climate change refuges - people who will be displaced by sea level rise or by extreme weather or by lack of basic necessities (such as drinking water). Let's specifically think of Vanuatu, an island nation off the east coast of Australia. As ocean levels rise, they have no "inland" to move in to. They may have to completely leave the islands as they disappear underwater.

Does the international community have a responsibility to find a place for them to live?

Does the international community have a responsibility to somehow restore the islands for them? (perhaps with new innovation & technology)?

If they have to leave the islands & live elsewhere, where can they go?

What should happen to the people who already live where you would re-home the people from Vanuatu?

What would you tell people who don't want to make a home for climate change refuges?
