Stoichiometric equation of neutralization of oleic acid:

R-COOH + NaOH ------> R-COONa + H2O

Question 1: Does the chemical reaction absorb or release energy? Consider: ?Hf : R-COOH = -711 kJ/mol; NaOH = 426kJ/mol; R-COONa = 60 kJ/kg; H2O = -285.83 kJ/mol

Question 2: If the neutralization reaction is required to be carried out at 80°C, at what temperature should the oil enter?

Question 3: If the oil is at an initial temperature of 20°C in the storage tank, and is heated by water through a heat exchanger that enters at 90°C and leaves it at 80°C. It is requested to determine the mass flow value of the water, and the length value of the tubular exchanger if the diameter is 0.04 m. Assume a value U = 600 W/m2 K. The oil must be heated prior to entering neutralization.

Cp water: 4.18 kJ/kg/K
Cp oil: 1,634 kJ/kg/K
