Question: Glenda- a basically good person-kills a mad bomber in order to prevent him from killing 10,000 people.

In Kant's system of ethics, is killing ever morally allowable? There are many examples of good consequences that might follow from Glenda's action: 9,999 lives saved (10,000 minus the mad bomber); thousands of happy friends and relatives of the almost-victims; fame and fortune for Glenda; emergency services spared the effort and expense of dealing with a bombing. Does Kant think these consequences matter in considering the moral worth of the act of killing the mad bomber? Why or why not? Do you agree?
