I think I have a pretty good understanding of the phases of the moon and what they look like. I just have a couple questions/ I just wanted to clarify a couple things and make sure I'm not confused.

Does full moon and new moon look the same?

Is a full moon when the moon is half-way through it's rotation, and the new moon is when the moon is completely done with the rotation? -Is that why it's called "new" moon?
