Be sure that you have read through modules 7, 8 and 9 and that you have completed any associated speed quizzes before you complete this assignment.

This annotated bibliography will offer a specific overview of the 8 strongest sources you plan to use in assignment #4, the argumentative research essay. You will need to choose a topic for assignent 4 and follow the research steps we covered in module 5.

Be sure to review valid vs. invalid research. If your research is invalid, you will not receive a grade for this assignment.

Conduct preliminary (junk) research to learn about your topic.

Develop an expanded thesis, which includes the subtopics you plan to cover in your essay. Remember that your thesis should be based on one of the topics offered in assignment 4.

Your thesis needs to be strong, so if you are unsure about your thesis, send a copy via Canvas email to your instructor and request feedback.

Start organizing a generalized outline of what you will specifically cover in your essay.

Find academic research (usually journal articles from the college library) that pertains to your subtopics. Find more sources than you feel you will need.

Discard sources that you deem as redundant/unfit for your project.

Note that you must annotate 8 sources for this assignment.

You will almost certainly need more than 8 sources in your final essay, so just include what you feel to be your 8 best sources for this assignment.

Specific Assignment Requirements

Place your thesis statement at the top of your annotated bibliography.
Your instructor must have a good understanding of your overall argument in order to determine if your sources will logically support your overall claim.
Your thesis statement will be graded as part of the annotated bibliography assignment.

Be sure that you understand what an annotated bibliography is
Be sure that you closely examine the example entry as your entries will need to be styled in a similar manner
Add a sentence somewhere in each annotation (paragraph) that explains which subtopic in your thesis the article will apply to.
You will need to submit eight entries. The example shows one entry.

For each of the eight entries, provide the following:
Reference:
Provide a reference of your source that adheres to APA formatting.
This should reflect what you would normally place in your references page

TOPIC FOR THE ASSIGNMENT;

Many of us now use our phones to retrieve much of the information we need, but is there a cost for this reliance? Does a reliance on smart technology affect the amount we remember? You will need to examine specific, academic research on phone/smart device use and its effect on memory for this topic.
