In addition to HR being a partner in strategy execution, in which they cooperate with both senior management and line managers, there are three other roles that Conner and Ulrich (2009) propose HR to be. They are:
Administrative Expert: This is more aligned with traditional HR functions, such as management of staff, training and hiring.
Employee Champion: This role emphasizes the needs of employees with the purpose of increasing commitment. It is also needed to increase and encourage loyalty to the organization while concentrating on employee well-being.
Change Agent: HR helps employees encounter, embrace and institute change within the organization (Conner and Ulrich, 2009) .
