Question 1: After reading about the effects of marijuana, do you think that it makes sense for marijuana to be a Schedule I drug? What do you think the U.S. marijuana policies should look like?

Before reading this lecture, did you know that our bodies have special receptors in the brain that are stimulated specifically by THC; and, our bodies produce our own THC-like substance that fits these receptors, known as Anandamide? If you did not know, were you surprised to learn this? What do you think this should mean for marijuana policies in the U.S.? Do you think that this is a well-known finding (why or why not)?

LSD and most hallucinogenic drugs (but not all) are in Schedule I. Before reading this lecture what did you think of LSD and other hallucinogens, and did you think their use should be harshly punished? After reading the lecture did your opinion about LSD and other hallucinogens change? Do you think LSD should be a Schedule I drug? Do you think it makes sense for LSD to be in Schedule I when it does not produce substance dependence?
