Yes, like any other energies, nuclear energy has its pros and its cons. In general, nuclear power has a bad reputation; think about Fukushima, Chernobyl, 3 Mile accidents - they have really taught us a lot about nuclear power. And, as you point out, what about the nuclear waste? that's an important problem and we need to make sure to dispose it properly.
