Step 1: Record as accurately as possible all food and beverages you consumed for two days. For each day indicate the following:
date you recorded your food intake
What food you consumed
What beverages you consumed
If you eat out for any of your meals specify the restaurant and what you consumed.
Step 2: Using any nutrition tracking site or smartphone app that allows you to track and analyze your food intake over time and gives nutrient and dietary reports, do ananalysis of your diet by logging what you consumed for the two days. Analyze your diet by looking at the recommendations given in your analysis report; i.e.: Food Groups and Calories, and Nutrients Reports. Good sites include: MyFitnessPal
Step 3: Submit a record of what you consumed for the two days, your analysis reports aswering the following questions:
Do you think the recommended calories are accurate and meet your diet and exercise needs? Why or why not? Did you consume more or less of the recommended calories?
How did your intake compare to the recommendations for EACH food group according to recommendations from the textbook chapter (or looking at the Dietary Guidelines link in the Module 9 Resource page)?
Based on what you learned from the analysis of your two-day diet, what are 3 improvements you could make to your diet and how do you plan on implementing each improvement?
