After reading chapter and reviewing the PowerPoint for the week, please address the following questions in your discussion post:
1) Describe one thing that you found interesting or surprising about what we learned this week. Is there anything you look at differently after our lesson this week? You may wish to reflect on the videos posted "Poor no More" and "Rethinking Homelessness".
2) Reflect back to your thoughts on what caused youth crime before reading (you may wish to refer to your discussion post). Do you think that you viewed crime as due to social or biological factors (consistent with positivist theories)? Which theoretical perspectives fit with your assumptions beginning this learning unit?
3) Now that you have read chapter, have you changed your perception on the "causes" of crime over the past two weeks? What perspective do you identify with now?
