Question 1. During these eight weeks, you have studied principles, strategies, military theorists, and many battles. Lots of reading and considerable time thinking about the principles and military operations. Just for fun, where do you come down on this age-old question: Do you think military strategy is an art or a science? Please explain why.

Question 2. The first three readings in Week 8 Learning Resources relate to insurgencies and Maoism. Is the insurgency characterized in the Mao readings similar to the situations we see from ISIS or Al Qaeda? How so? Can Islamic extremism be defeated by traditional military strategies and tactics?
Question 3. Evolving Strategies
Why should the US Military think beyond the battlefield when developing its strategy in the 21st century? Should the military venture outside its traditional realm of knowledge? Reflect on the nine principles as you answer.
Question 4. Neo-Strategicom
Read General Dunlap's article on Neo-Strategicon in week 8 learning resources. Debate his ideas. Take either side for your response, either "I agree" or "I disagree", and thoroughly explain why you agree or disagree with his article
Question 5. Cyber Warfare
This class typically has several students pursuing majors or minors in cybersecurity, and cyber warfare is a legitimate subject in this course. Read the article entitled "Applying Irregular Warfare Principles to Cyber Warfare" in the Week 8 Learning Resources. Is cyber warfare a new form of warfare, or is it simply conflict in a different environment (such as aircraft being introduced in warfare in the early 20th century)? Do the nine principles of war apply to cyber warfare or are additional or new principles required?
