The Progressives set out to rectify many of the issues that existed during The Gilded Age, such as child labor, poor working conditions for the labor class, and uneven wealth distribution. They hoped to improve working conditions, end child labor, get rid of corruption in politics, and increase the rights of women. What do you think were the most important issues they tried to tackle? Why? Do you think they were successful in their efforts? Using your textbook and the resources below, answer the questions above, explain the overall issues that existed during The Gilded Age that the Progressives were trying to solve, and give your opinion on their success or failure.
