In particular, what exactly is a mission statement? A vision statement? Do you know the mission and vision of your organization? If you are currently not working, consider a company that you are familiar with. How well do you think your company supports their own mission and vision (why or why not)? Does this align with the organization's culture, in your opinion?

Finally, have you ever researched a company's mission/vision prior to applying for a position there? How would you react if you did not agree with their statements? For example, would this deter you from wanting to work there, or would you be able to follow their mission while on the clock, even if you don't believe in it? How would it make you and the employer feel if you found that you weren't able to commit to a mission you didn't believe in after you were hired?
